Marlow & Sons A favorite place we come back to when we need really fresh, innovative food with flavor. Besides the excellent wine, this time we sat outside and sampled 3 dishes plus dessert. Crostinni with spring ricotta & rhubarb Parpadelle with octopus braised in red wine with ramps Rabbit meatballs with roasted leeks and yogurt Finally an amazing rhubarb crumble tart with buttermilk ice cream Fine dining in the South of Williamsburg
Kang Suh - Midtown on 32nd Street
This Korean place has exceptional BBQ
Nice pork dumplings, and we had both the beef and shrimp BBQ.
After a little grilling on the table, there you have it with all the sides, lettuce, sauce, and thin sliced scallions.
Never disappointed !
Char No 4 - 195 Smith Street, Brooklyn
Was over in this part of Brooklyn, getting hungry and settled into this place to try it out, nice decor, seems like the chef brings out most every dish, very nice touch.
The food:
Oysters - this is what we were looking for so a nice selection of Nova Scotia Oysters was just the thing.
Pork Balls - fried up and served with a very very spicy sauce, so-so
Salad - with pear, very fresh and beautiful flavor - really nice!
Main - Roasted chicken, really well done with juices sealed in and just plain delicious
overall very nice and you should give it a shot
Aurora - South Williamsburg
Second time is a charm!
The roasted heirloom carrots were different, maybe a bit chewy, but how many times do you get to have heirloom carrots?
Roast Boar was so very tender and delicious, and the gnocchi with shrimp was nice but not exceptional.
Pannacotta - really nice! light with flavor, perfect end to a very nice meal.
We shall return
